The Chicago Cubs announced Thursday that they have signed 41-year-old relief pitcher Koji Uehara to a one year deal.
Uehara spent the last few seasons with the Red Sox, and will always be remembered by the Boston community for his unbelievable 2013 campaign that saw him record the final out of the 2013 season, bringing Boston its third championship in 10 season.
Uehara figures to take over the setup duties, leaving the ninth inning for newly-acquired Wade Davis.
This Cubs pitching staff now has three of the last four players that recorded the final out of the World Series. (Koji Uehara, Wade Davis and Mike Montgomery)
